After studying fine art at SDSU I have worked for Virgin Interactive designing video games, taught multimedia at Platt College, and worked at LPL Financial Services as a Marketing Director. In 2007 I left the corporate world to become a full time artist. I have a studio in downtown San Diego where I’m currently working on a comic graphic novel and will be presenting it at the 2010 Comic-Con. My influences are Japanese Woodblock art from the 18th century, artists like Kuniyoshi and Hokusai. I work in mixed media, ranging from acrylics, pencil and ink on wood, canvas and watercolor paper.

Octopus & Koi in a Rock Garden

This piece was a requested commission, I took it as a challenge to make the best looking Koi with an Octopus as I could. It was penciled on a 19×24-inch bristol board, then inked, scanned and partially colored in Photoshop. A giclee was then created and I added watercolor to finish it off.

Sea Dragon

This was a commission for a restaurant in Oceanside, CA. My take on a traditional Japanese style dragon is 12 ft wide on clear acrylic and backlit behind the bar inside the restaurant. It took about 5 weeks from start to finish.

Dragon Lady II

This was a commissioned piece by a private owner who requested a woman with a dragon tattoo.  I decided to go ahead and have her on a raft at night with a lantern and exotic moths.  This piece is mixed media on 4×6 ft canvas.

Ganesha

This was painted as a design on a t-shirt for the Dream Hotel in NYC and the Deepak Chopra center. The original is 19×24-inch mixed media on bristol.

2 Angels (Divine Interpretation)

This is a mixed media piece on 36×72-inch bristol board. These angels represent the sun and the moon and how they can eclipse each other.

Tiger in Bamboo Forest

This piece is a 20ft piece, acrylic and ink on five wood panels bolted to a wall in a restaurant in downtown San Diego. I started out with a sketch and four weeks later the piece was done.
