Alex Macsoda

Alex Macsoda 01

I’m Alex, Romanian and for the last 7 years I have been successfully surviving in the crazy but beautiful life of Bucharest. I started my career in advertising 5 years ago. For the first 4 years in a small boutique agency and for the last one in one of the largest advertising agencies in Romania. I’ve developed projects for both ATL and BTL, but my very first love and also recognized by others is graphic design. In this sense, I created a portfolio with my own personal work and ideas which includes among others, typography and logotypes.

Since some time ago, I also discovered another passion of mine wich is photography and which turned out to mix very well with what I do in advertising: product photography. This is a direction that I’ve embraced lately and wish to further continue.

I’m a big fan of the minimalist trend but still I inherited my father’s taste for vintage. So, the people who sees my work can easely observe a combination of both.

This is to a certain extent the original idea for the small part of my work that I’m about to present.

Einstein Typeface

This project is inspired by a famous quote of Einstein’s, which I first used to inspire myself as an individual. Practically the type is based on a combination of old that can always easily turn into modern.

This is a typeface I created as a starting point for a larger project.

Shoot’em up

Through this project I thought of illustrating the funny way in which guns are transformed into useful tools we use in our everyday life.
