Aleix Gordo Hostau
November 23rd, 2009
Aleix Gordo Hostau is a self-taught artist from Barcelona, Spain. Having entered the art world at an early age, Hostau quickly developed a unique style that has afforded him extensive commercial assignments with the likes of Pepe Jeans London, Nestea and Montana Colors. Specializing in what the artist refers to as “pop-urban style,” Hostau takes most of his influence for a broad range of artistic disciplines, some of which include graffiti and street art, Japanese wood engraving and American pop art.
When not focusing on commercial work, Hostau contributes to La Troupe (published by Montana Colors and Panini Comics), the first comic book about Spanish graffiti. The comic is a collaborative effort between 52 well-known artists from the Spanish graffiti world and includes submissions from Suso33, Sendy’s, Zosen, Kram and the like.

In The Name of The Crisis
I created this illustration as a means to convey how I see the economic crisis that is affecting the world right now.

Flying Vans
This is a commission done for Vans’ Press Dossier for Spain and France. I like it!

The Cube
This image is the symbol of perfection. People will hopefully have a different interpretation of this image: Why the Cube is tied down, why is there so much junk under it or what is the significance of the Cube itself?

The End of The World
This is probably the first serious illustration that conveys all the artistic values I’m looking for.

Skater Rabbit
Just a visual exercise – but it’s cool!
