Diana Bodea

April 13th, 2009

Diana Bodea is a Romanian-born fine art photographer living in Spain, most of her photographs are like journal pages written with light; dramatic color contrasts, realistic and surrealistic images are constant attributes of her work. She is one of those photographers who like to experiment, both digitally and on film too. Her work has been dedicated, for some time, to introspection and direct observation of the self; the self-portraits are a proof of that. Even though she could at any time make use of all the tricks of the trade, she is determined to give a simple, clear and, most of all, honest photographic display. Bodea owns a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts-Painting, a Masters Degree in Painting, and a Masters Degree in European Cultural Politics.

The following photographs each represent a different project by Diana Bodea.

This one is from my recent pinhole project “Different point of view” in which I try to catch an upside down world.

This image called ‘Fear’ was made for the DAHRA’s DATA book project, which involved 52 creative people from around the world, all trying to raise awareness on Tibetan rights.
More about this project at http://www.dahra.org

This is one of the images from the ‘Self-Portraits’ series, an introspection of the self.

‘Starry night’ belongs to the astrophotography series, which also earned me an award in a 2008 Astrophotography contest.

‘The Kid’ is one of the photographs that brought me a commended award on Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2008.
